Arizona Dreaming
I recently had the opportunity to go on a wonderful vacation with my mom and 2 aunts to visit and stay with my mom's 3rd sister, my Aunt Melanie and her husband Bob in Arizona. We spent almost a week by the pool, relaxing in the 100+ degree dry heat, eating yummy food and sipping on Mike's Hard Peach Lemonades (I mean... #YUM). It was so perfectly relaxing, we might as well have been staying at a luxury resort. I have never been so full of Vitamin D, Lemon cake, and family memories. With our upcoming move to Germany I have been saying YES to almost every opportunity to see friends and family. This time spent relaxing with my aunts was priceless, and I was again reminded how thankful I have a larger family. It was a blast hearing them re-tell stories of their childhood, laughing over the strangest details, and talking with them about "adult" topics I have not been able to before. Just typical "girl-talk", but to finally have those conversations with your aunts that have watched you grow up... it is special.
Other than a few walks with their adorable pup Lakota, we only left the house once to go to dinner... and I would not have had it any other way. The desert is a special place, and I am SO glad I was able to take part in this "sisters trip" and be welcomed into the sacred circle. Cheers to #sisters and #dreaming of the Arizona sunshine!
